Cool stuff!

In case anybody isn’t on houseofdanie (the former Tessima)’s LJ list, let me point you toward it. She’s making crazy cool plastic stuff to support breast cancer research. After getting some much deserved sleep, you can bet your keister I’m dropping her a line to order something.

Brownie recipe

February 23rd, 2005 4 comments

This one’s pretty easy, and you don’t get too many dishes dirty. I like it because I always have cocoa powder around the house, since I like to make hot cocoa from scratch whenever snow’s in the forecast.

BODACIOUS BROWNIES

1/2 cup butter or margarine (whatever it is, it should be solid, not in a tub.)
1 cup white sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 t baking powder
1/4 t salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8×8″ baking pan.

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat, stir in sugar and cocoa. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, then stir in vanilla.

Stir dry ingredients into chocolate mixture until just blended. (This may be a workout for your arm!) Spread into pan.

Bake for 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool in pan, preferably on wire rack.

Eat!
