Castle Waiting

Me: I think I’ll make some hot cocoa and suck it through a TimTam.
Mr. Tvini: That’s going to be your new catchphrase, isn’t it? “Oh yeah? Well, suck THAT through a TimTam!”

In other news, I searched for my copy of Castle Waiting and couldn’t find it. It’s one of the few comics that I really cherish, so I went looking for it online. And lo and behold, in May, a hardback edition is coming out! All the Castle Waiting up until this point, collected in one volume! SQUEEEEEEEE!!! I can’t wait!

It’s a beautifully illustrated graphic novel, the winner of many industry prizes, suitable for older kids on up. Linda Medley does a fantastic job with it. I am so incredibly psyched! I want it NOW!

Jayne hats this weekend: working on orders from 1/10-1/11.

If you want, I’ll keep an eye out for it or do an order at my store. I can nail it for 40% off, bit of a cut off Amazon’s price.

I think that would definitely put you in “I owe you one” territory.

No prob. I’m in tomorrow, I’ll try to see if Previews has formally done a listing for it yet or what. If it turns out that our primary distributor isn’t going to carry it, I’ll let you know, but it may take a bit for me to puzzle it out.

You know, though, I’d still have to ship it here, which would be a big pain in the butt for you. Don’t put yourself out. Also, I don’t want you to use your comic-shop powers for evil instead of good.

Shipping would not be a pain in the butt, I’ve got a post office and a UPS store within a mile. Also, I consider that a force for good. It’s a comic, and it’d be going to someone who wants it.

Tell you what, though, we’ll just keep an eye on it and you can make the call when the book actually comes out. The other factor you might consider is that we may get it a heck of a lot earlier than Amazon.
