Wish me luck…

In a half hour, I will be talking to a group of kindergarteners, some of whom don’t speak English, about yarn and knitting. We’ll also be learning how to finger knit.

This oughta be interesting. If you hear on the news about a woman in North Carolina being hotgied with green yarn by a kindergarten class, you’ll know what happened. Wish me luck!

    Abort! Abort!

Argh! I went up there, and the teacher was out today. The teacher’s assistant asked me to come back Monday. I pre-cut 20 lengths of yarn and tied loops on them for finger knitting last night! I looked up Spanish phrases for things in case my rusty Spanish gave out! I borrowed raw wool and a spindle from a lady at the yarn shop! I practiced my patter on my husband last night, even though he was trying to work on a paper for school! And I got my adrenaline going, too. Well, phooey. At least I’ll be extra prepared next time. Let’s hope the yarn shop lady doesn’t ask me to give the spindle back yet.

    Aww.. Hehe.

More time to work on that rusty spanish! 🙂

Little kids are cool. I kinda think “foreign” language isn’t as big a barrier when people are young because they’re just learning their own language too. Yes? No? Heehee.
