Zzzz…

My back’s been bothering me (old college injury), and combined with allergies that’s been making it hard to sleep. So today I apparently dozed off in the waiting room of my daughter’s speech therapist. And curled up in a little ball on the loveseat. And snored. And they had to really shake me to get me to wake up.

Soooooo embarassing.

Wish I could sleep like that sometimes…

Thanks for the links to yarnmarket.com and the rest…I can see danger in my future, once I get properly used to handling basic yarns. (casting on loosely for shawls is not my friend)

Auuugh back pain is the worst! And I hate falling asleep in public. When I was 13 I was in the hospital waiting for my sister to give birth.. fell asleep in the waiting room, and when I woke up there was this big guy sitting in the chair across from me, grinning. I just stared at him and he says, “I was watching you sleep.”

    Creepy much!?

LOL. She’s infected you too? We should start a DR knitters club. *G*

I just got needles, books, etc at Joanns yesterday. And practiced all night! 😀

I’m not going to be a DR knitter for much longer, but the sentiment sorta stays, I guess.

Funny, that’s where I picked up my needles and yarn so far. The books I got at Border’s. Started off with ‘Stitch and Bitch’, and ‘Folk Shawls.’ The shawls are mostly a bit more advanced, it looks like, but there’s one towards the end (the hairpin lace style one) that I’m gearing up to try. I think there’s a couple other easier ones in there.

Well, yeah. DR and DR Survivors knitting club? *G*

Ooooo.. I hadn’t even thought of shawls yet. Oh dear. I’m really bad at knitting so far, but working on it. 😉 My knitting history is weird. For about six months I went to private school in the 2nd grade, and they started teaching me to knit. Then we moved and since then I’ve knitted a scarf or two.. stopped knitting.. and now I’m back at it. :flails: Hopefully I’ll stick with it this time. I want a booga bag! And scarves! And shawls! And afghans! :knits her fingers off:

You sound like me about a week ago. Only I still sort of sound like this. I’ve just added on a few new projects to do, revolving around doing some Harry Potter scarves for friends. (Somyr, I’m looking at you.)

I had knitted before, but years ago, and again, not very good myself. There’s a few swatch-corpses around and some stuff that looks like it mighta been able to become an afghan at some point, but de-evolved into random squares of color since.

I am nobody’s advisor (let’s leave that to Tvini, the Knitting Goddess), but I started again now with chunky garter-knit scarves and a lacy purple monster on large needles. (17 US)

For Goddess’ sake, stay the hell away from boucle (sp?) yarns until you’re real comfortable with working with something snarly and grabby.

Swatch corpses! Okay that made me giggle.

I have many swatch corpses as well. Hubby is now using yesterday’s test scrap as a drool rag for the cat. Thanks babe, really. *G*

Yeah I ended up with pretty small needles, Joann’s had.. nothing! :flail: So I’m going to look for an actual yarn shop around here and get some more needles and some better yarn.

Snarly and.. eww eww, okay. Noted!

That could not be creepier. Hopefully that guy was there for something itchy and burny. Weirdo.

Now my daughter keeps looking at me mischievously and saying, “Mommy is sleeping!” Great. She’s five and she’s already poking fun at her ol’ mama.
