Thank you, that reminds me that I have to add “Tied self to enchanted oiled Dwarf.” I was trying to tie him up, rolled a 1, and wound up tangling myself up in the rope for three rounds. I was down on the floor, running in place ala Curly.

And you forgot to mention, it wasn’t just a party member, it was a NEW party member who had never played with the group before – way to make a first impression, yaknow?

Party member may not have, but player sure did. And was laughing hysterically.
Okay, so not really a bad impression. Player enjoyed it, though I DID need to clean my monitor once or twice, and party member is (perhaps blissfully, perhaps woefully) ignorant of the actual events that transpired before her release.

Good point. As far as she knows, we’re fearsome adventurers who saved the Dwarves from being tied up and set ablaze by a boggle. Go us!

So now the real question is…should we go straight to Level 9 (and certain doom..) or go through each floor (which might take us until eternity)

Well, as we started our adventure, our bard started whistling a jaunty tune. IN THE SPOOKY BOGGLE-INFESTED MINE. The GM made us all roll listen checks.
So yes, there is some very ill-advised music.

I gave this some thought after you asked it! We know the boggles are carrying messages, right? Are they carrying them verbally, or do they actually have pieces of paper? Should we be searching these guys more?
Are the hooded guys going to start to notice that their messages aren’t getting through? Or maybe since these guys are on the mess hall level, they’re all off duty so we’re good for a while.
I dunno. If we can level before we hit level 9, then great. Otherwise, we might pick up a few doodads, but eventually we’ll hit our certain doom anyway. Still, might be nice to hold off for a couple of sessions before we all perish this time.
