Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin recipe

Some time ago, my six-year-old daughter decided that she no longer liked bananas.

As part of my neverending quest to get fruit and veggies into my child, I made banana muffins tonight. But so that they wouldn’t be completely heinous to her, I chocolated ’em up some. This is adapted from a mocha banana chocolate chip muffin recipe from allrecipes.com.

I think I’m set for yarn for a while. And there’s actually two more large orange cones. I’ll just have to keep an eye on the yellow.

Good. I hate running low.

Halloween

This is the first year that Emily wasn’t sick on Halloween.
Judging by her expression, her attitude is:
“Come hell or high water, I’m getting candy!”

I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille.

Got a call from a reporter for the Style section of our local newspaper, The Charlotte Observer today. Looks like in the next few weeks, I’ll be featured in the “five questions with…” feature. They want me to come down on Monday with examples of my stuff so they can take photos. I’m guessing I’ll be sporting a Jayne hat in a photo in the Observer.

And just think, it all started with ‘s hat last Christmas. Amazing.

An interesting day.

The morning saw me piddling around a little, playing some on the Zoo Tycoon 2 expansion pack, which I just couldn’t resist picking up while I was out getting long-sleeved pajamas for my daughter.

After playing for just a bit, I went down to County Register’s office and officially registered as a licensed business in Mecklenburg County. Also, I got zoned to operate a business in my home. Price tag $100 for both licenses.

Tonight a police officer knocked on my door. He wanted more info about how my bank card info was stolen. So I got to give my very first police report, and dig out all the financial info I had buried in the rat’s nest that is my desk because I thought it was all over and done with. All in all, an educational experience.

I hope they get the guy who did it. Sounds like they know when, where, and how it was done, they’re just having trouble tying the end guy to the actual crime with anything beyond very circumstancial evidence. I think my info helped a little, so that’s good. Unsettling to think that a place that I go weekly, and STILL go to, was the place this was done.

The moral of the story is: don’t let your bank card out of your sight, even for two minutes.

Curse you, Australian fiend!

Thanks to my Australian knitting secret pal, I am now addicted to Arnott’s TimTams. My Secret Pal helpfully included a note saying that the best way to eat one was to bite off opposing corners and suck a hot cholatey beverage through it. And she was right. Now I’m having hot chocolate every night and drinking the first long draw through a TimTam.

Must… hoard… precious… TimTams!

After being internetless for almost a day, it feels good to be back online. It’s like water in the desert, I tell you!

I did go back and get more Cherry Tree Hill. Sadly, they did not have the Indian Summer in the merino boucle, although I picked up a few more skeins of it in the Ariel.

Pics below the cut.
