Tvini flips out.

Remember my wacky adventures with Noro Silk Garden colorway 87? How they mysteriously changed their formulation and the new one looked nothing like the old one?

Old hat. New hat.

Well, yarn I ordered in an older dye lot arrived today. Instead of E2 (current) it was E. It wasn’t the B that somebody had in an old picture (but wasn’t offering), but it was described as having pinks and yellows by the seller.

Apparently, when old 87 and new 87 love each other very much, they get together and make hybrid 87.

Again, I say “WTF??” It’s got some components of the old, and some of the new. Now Noro is just screwing with me! Bastards! Bastardy bastard bastards! ARRRRGGGGHHH!!!

I’ve written to the client, with a much more level-headed tone than above, of course. She’s happy to get a hat, regardless of which colorway it is. It’s just… Man! It burns my britches! Note to self. Change rainbow beanie pic on site. BURN NORO HQ.

Oh, that would have driven me nuts. And given how pricy Noro is…. Grr!

the old colours were way better. Why would they add browns and make it barfy? It looks like a muddy rainbow or something.

The hybrid one is better than the new one too.

I agree. I’m going to use the hybrid one for sure.

Also, every time I see Mr. Sparkle, I have a little “heh” moment in my head.

I don’t get it. Why would they make such drastic changes? This really gives meaning to the warning about getting all the same dye-lot for a project, doesn’t it? I’ll just say that I’m glad you did my Ophelia in all one color. It fits yummy, feels yummy, and is a lovely middle-weight, between bald and polar fleece. You can probably hear me purring from there.

I like the hybrid one better than the old one or the new one. ::laughing:: And the colors are so different, I don’t know how or why they think they can get away with giving them the same color code. That is just wrong.
