Happy Day!

A DR friend’s wife just had a baby. It’s a girl. I just happen to have three balls of super-soft wool/silk/cashmere yarn (Lana Gatto Feeling) in shades of pink and white. So the question is, hat or booties? I’m takin’ votes!

ETA: A friend points out that they live in a very warm part of the country. I guess I could do cotton – but darn it, I still want to knit them something!

    Both!

Because they’d look so cute together, despite the fact that it’s summer.

Both – and in more than one size… so when the newborn cuteness factor is outgrown, they might need the hat/booties for the cold weather.

    Girls rule!

    coincidence

Funny you should mention that. A friend of mine who plays DR just told me yesterday that he JUST found out from his wife that he’s going going to be father to a second kid. Go Him!

How come no one offers to knit me a pink hat and booties? I’d look fabulous.

what about a lacy open-knit blanket, sort of like pointelle or knitted lace? Maybe it’s just my family, but there never seemed to be enough baby blankets between laundry, running out the door, etc.

And since I’ve been meaning to mention this and keep forgetting, you could make non-stick baby gear with this yarn! :duck: Kidding!

You’re right, baby blankets are always needed! You can use those suckers for everything. Unfortunately, that’s gonna take way more time than I’ve got.

I so want to do something with that teflon yarn!
