{"id":893,"date":"2006-05-23T18:08:00","date_gmt":"2006-05-23T22:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kissmyknits.com\/?p=893"},"modified":"2006-05-23T18:08:00","modified_gmt":"2006-05-23T22:08:00","slug":"persimmon-tree-and-water-bottle-cozy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kissmyknits.com\/?p=893","title":{"rendered":"Persimmon tree and water bottle cozy."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Remember my posts about <a href=\"http:\/\/tvini.livejournal.com\/179729.html\">the persimmon tree<\/a> being <a href=\"http:\/\/tvini.livejournal.com\/180030.html\">spared from death?<\/a>  Well, this happened today.<br \/>\n<center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tvini.org\/images\/misc\/persimmonX.jpg\" \/ border=\"3\" height=\"250\" vspace=\"3\"><br \/>\nThat can&#8217;t be good.<\/center><\/p>\n<p>On the knitting front, the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yarnagogo.com\/bawk_hot_water_bottle_coz\/\">hot water bottle cover<\/a> is going much better now that it&#8217;s not made from insanely thin sock yarn.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tvini.org\/images\/hotwaterbottle\/hotwaterbottlenew1.jpg\" \/ border=\"3\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"3\" height=\"200\"><br \/>\nI had nearly an entire skein of Cascade 220 in purple leftover after the <a href=\"http:\/\/tvini.livejournal.com\/157840.html\">eye-searing felted bag<\/a> I did for my kid&#8217;s teacher.  The pattern calls for 190 yards of worsted wool (in other words, a skein of Lamb&#8217;s Pride worsted) so this is a good match.<br \/>\n<br clear=all><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tvini.org\/images\/hotwaterbottle\/rowcounter.jpg\" \/ border=\"3\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"3\" height=\"250\"><br \/>\nI want to point out that nifty stitch marker!  In fact it&#8217;s a row counter made for me by <lj user=crazycatladymel> as part of her Fiber Godmother swap.  As you work each round, you move to the next loop on the marker to keep track of your rows.  So for me, I make the first loop my cable, then move to the next loop on four subsequent rounds, then when I&#8217;ve only got one loop left on the counter I move it back to the beginning and do another cable row.  Makes it very easy to remember what row I&#8217;m on without having extra gadgets to keep track of.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks, <lj user=crazycatladymel>!<\/p>\n<p>Jayne-wise, hats up next for Glasgow, New York, and Berkshire, UK.<\/p>\n<p>And now, <a href=\"http:\/\/bread.allrecipes.com\/az\/BlbrryCrnmlMffins.asp\">blueberry cornmeal muffins<\/a> are cool, so I&#8217;m going to grab one!
