I brought beads and tools to share, and she provided supplies and instructions for guild members.

These are from <lj user=prostiturtle>:

and these are from <lj user=illiane>:

and I made these myself:

Totalled, this is more than double the number I previously had. I’ve made earrings before, and stitch markers are really the same. Maybe I’ll make a set out of those old bone skull beads I have.

Last weekend I finished up that golf club cozy for the Red Cross golf tournament, which I believe was on Tuesday. Charlotte Yarn was spearheading the golf club cover drive, which is a little perk for tournament participants. I was happy to do it because it’s for a good cause and I like helping out the ladies at Charlotte Yarn, but I will also say that never have I taken on a project that I had less interest in doing. At least it was good practice in doing Fair Isle on the cross.

Jayne hat and hat kit orders are up. There were times in the summer the list would be down to three or four hats – we’re back up to about 12 and a three week wait. Cold weather, the year anniversary of Serenity’s release, and the marathon on Sci-Fi seem to have combined to increase awareness. If I had to attribute it to just one thing, though, I’d go with cold weather. This is the warmest hat ever – Ma Cobb really knew what she was doing.

This morning I printed out patterns and address labels, made sure the list was updated properly, and am about to go stamp envelopes and boxes, write some “Ma Cobb” notes, then package up two kits and a hat. It’s not just the knitting, it’s the administrative stuff that sucks up the time. However, my daughter has occupational therapy this afternoon, so that’ll be an hour of uninterrupted knitting time in a waiting room. And I’m to the point now where I can knit and read at the same time.

Knitting + iPod + Gardner Dozois’s Year’s Best Science Fiction = a pleasant hour spent in a medical waiting room.
