Dancin’ in the Mystery Bunker

Daughter’s back in school today, so as I work on the 6′ scarf of doom (almost done!) I’m watching Bride and Prejudice, which is kind of Bollywood except that it’s mostly in English. For the first number, Naveen Andrews is front and center in the big Indian song and dance number. It’s a little jarring to see Sayid gettin’ his MC Hammer on. Somebody totally, totally needs to make an animated gif of that.

By the way, the scarf looks faboo. Wish I could keep it!

    Do you like the movie?

I find myself being sucked into crazy bhangra mixes. I just can’t help it.

I do! It’s “Pride and Prejudice,” as you’d expect from the title, but in modern-day India. The one musical number they’ve done that’s meant to be “American” so far has all the things I guess you think of as American. Gospel choir, Grand Canyon, etc. which is about par for the course. Bollywood is all about the spectacle, baby!

Yay! B&P is my favorite movie that I’ve seen this year, and I don’t see that changing. I’m working on writing-type stuff today, but now I think I may need to take a knitting break and watch that again.
