Seriously bad karma.
I just heard from one of my Jayne hat customers. She says she got her hat back in September, loves it, wears it every day, and proudly wore it to Harry Potter last night. She got up and left the theater for a moment, forgetting that her hat was on her lap, and it dumped off. When it was time to leave the theater for good, she realized it was gone. Nowhere to be found.
Someone stole it.
STOLE IT!
Who the hell steals a Jayne hat? That’s like the WORST karma you can get! I hope they’re happy in that hat, with the spirit of Jayne’s mother lurking over them. Better still, the spirit of Jayne – you just know he’s hopin’ to get an ear.
I’m cross-posting this to

Not to state the obvious, but I hope she went and checked the Lost and Found, not only immediately, but the next day.
It’s possible that someone picked it up to turn it in, particularly the theater staff, and she may have actually beat her hat to lost and found if she went there immediately and asked about it. I would definitely go back now and ask (again).

Yeah, I asked her the same thing, and am awaiting a reply. Gotta say, though, it’s not looking good.

Gorramit! That kind of stuff could get you shot (in another ‘verse).

I still have the hat I test-knitted from your kit, if she is in need of a replacement hat. As I don’t see me wearing it much in a Florida “winter,” I’d be glad to send it to her. Let me know…
