I might have bought a little yarn.

Just a little.

Many pics below the cut.

Noro and Baabajoe's

Non-wool goodness

Cotton Chenille
I actually do have a kit planned for all that red, but I’d be glad to sell it piecemeal if it saved me the trouble of writing up my pattern. Too many projects, not enough time!

soft and shiny

Subtle and fuzzy

Everyone Loves Kureyon

There’s actually a bit more than that, but you get the idea.

It’s all going to be sold, it’s just a matter of figuring out where to put it. I was actually thinking about putting it over in first, just ’cause I do care about my LJ peeps. I’d love to be able to let the folks in know about it, but I’m not sure how to do it without it seeming like blatant marketing. And let’s face it, nobody likes spam.

Maybe run another poetry contest over there, with some of this as a prize, and mention that more of my haul is for sale? I’ve been thinking it’s about time for another contest anyway. The slaves of Red Heart need salvation!

There was more I wanted, but kind of figured, “you know, you might want to pay the mortgage this month.” Damned practicality.

    aww, no ArtYarns?

How much were you going to offer the La Luz and the Cherry Tree Hill for? My sister’s name is Ariel, so she might need something out of that yarn. And La Luz is always awsome.

Nice! I’ll start keeping an eye on 😀

And, yumm, La Luz – I always pet that stuff when I’m at the LYS (that sounds wrong). David says I should just buy a skein of the stuff so I can play with it at home 😉

There were only three skeins of Regal Silk and one of Supermerino left when I went back yesterday. All were in colorway 105, which you can see on their site here. I really, really carried the silk around a long time before finally putting it down. I’m still thinking about going back for it. I didn’t get the supermerino, because I didn’t know what somebody could make with just one skein!

The Cherry Tree Hill, I was thinking $30, including US shipping. International shipping would be an extra two bucks. Considering it’s handpainted, retails for $37 or so, and has 475 yards on it, that’s pretty good. I googled and found a one-skein camisole pattern.

The La Luz cost me a pretty penny, so it’d have to be more like $21 with shipping. It’s going for $25 everywhere else, though, and that’s not including shipping. 100% silk, though, and I keep having to stop myself from going over to it and petting it. Must… resist… its… call!

Those are certainly very reasonable prices. If you can bear to part with the La Luz, I would love to buy it. I need a lacey silk scarf.

What are the other colors in Foxy Lady? The online pictures I’ve seen look more pastel than your picture. If it’s nice deep saturated colors, like the wine color showing up on my screen, I may have found Ariel’s xmas gift yarn.

I would love to take a skein of the ‘Indian Summer’ Cherry Tree Hill, if it’s available 🙂

btw, I don’t know if you got my earlier comment, but I have a skein of LP Bulky in Sunburst Gold if you want it 🙂

I took another pic of the Foxy Lady that shows its color better.

That’d be swell on the LP! I can always use more. 🙂

The Indian Summer is available, but the yarn store lady also has other lines in that same colorway. I can give her a call tomorrow and see if she’s got any of the merino boucle or Melange (similar to Ariel but bulkier) left. I’m seriously thinking about another trip out there.

It’s actually probably slightly less bright than this pic. If I had to describe the overall tone of the colorway, I’d go with rich red and rust.

Great! I’ll drop it in the mail this week. I also have some remnants of Rust and Autumn Harvest – I think there should be enough Rust for a pair of flaps . . . I’ll send those along too.

The merino boucle sounds nice! Depending on the pricing, I think I would prefer that to a cotton blend like Ariel. The yardage on the merino isn’t quite as much, and two skeins of the stuff may be out of reach of my grad student income :-p Either way, I’m definitely down for buying something in that colorway.

Whoops, I just realized that the merino boucle is a heavier weight than the Ariel, so I guess the yardage is comparable. In that case, I’m definitely up for buying a skein from you if the yarn store lady has any in stock.

The Woolpak is 8ply, shade 10 (black), batch 20. There are a whopping 525 yards per skein. As you no doubt know, this stuff felts like a dream.

I’d call it $17 INCLUDING shipping in US and Canada per skein, or $32 for both of ’em. UK shipping, add two bucks.

I just took a look at my finances and the majority of the excess (yeah, what’s that, right?) is going for the holidays. If you still have it after Christmas and are still looking to get rid of it, I will for sure take it then.

Heh. I just did the same thing today, after realizing that we now have eight nieces and nephews. I suppose “empty cardboard box” isn’t an adequate gift, eh?

Yeah. I sat down this morning and made a list of what we need and what we have, and yeah, there’s not much wiggle room. As much as I want to justify it and say it’s only yarn, and it’s for Christmas, or howeever I would try, it would still be one less present for someone else. Hopefully you have it after the holidays because I have a really neat felted bag in mind for it.
