My most recent yarn order arrived today…

Friggin' Huge!

…and that’s when I realized it might be time to get a wholesaler’s license. I mean, I’ve run through a good 8000 yards since May, and there are times when I have a hard time laying hands on bulk quantities of some colors and have to go to my local yarn store, which is always a crap shoot in terms of availability.

I’m running low on orange cotton for cotton Jayne hats. There’s enough to take care of current orders, but beyond that I wouldn’t feel comfortable telling someone I could get them their hat or kit in a timely fashion. A local yarn store has the cotton in stock, but the dye lot is different and it looks a little more melon than I’d like. So now I have to choose whether to go with the more melony shade or maybe find somebody to dye some orange for me. If I go with ‘dye’ then it’d be a hell of a lot cheaper if I could buy my yarn wholesale.

I guess I just have to figure out if the fees are worth it. And really, I’d prefer to have someone dye it – I’m a stickler for accuracy. So I guess I need someone who can dye some cotton “Jayne-hat orange!” I’ll pay!

That picture is so great! First, the coloring of it all is so Halloweeen. Second of all, I love the way the cat is looking at the yarn. The expression… it’s killing me.

    Jayne hat kits

    Hi Tvini,

I am dying for a Jayne hat kit. Do you still have them? and if so can I get one including the necessary needles? I am just starting my love of knitting and have only worked on two things so far. As an additional request can you include enough yarn for two hats? I cannot let my husband have all the fun. Please invoice me for a total if you have the kit.

    Thanks again.

    Re: Jayne hat kits

    Hi, Steelcool!

Yep, still got ’em, and they’re going like hotcakes. It seems there are a lot of Browncoat knitters out there – crossing geek boundaries!

The kit is $15 with shipping to the US and Canada, the needles are an extra $18. That’s because they’re nice bamboo ones, not icky aluminum. If you were looking at extra yarn for another hat, that’d be kit + needles + extra yarn = $45. I can invoice you… if I know your e-mail address. 🙂

If you’re interested, drop me a line or paypal to: wearwithstyle at gmail dot com

Whether you order one or not, have a great day and keep flying!

yeeee! i’m so excited! i’m in north florida visiting my parents this week (as opposed to south florida, where i live and the shipping address i gave you), so i won’t get to check out the kit until next week. i’m using this week to force myself to finish knitting Crumpets and knitty’s Cozy (and watch all the Firefly episodes on dvd! yaaay!) before i start on my very own cunning jayne hat when i get home!
