Well, we all make mistakes.

Me: “Look at this hat! It’s too much. It’s awful.”
Mr. Tvini: “No, no! It’s good! Some stoner will love it!”
Me: “Hm. $30!”
Mr. Tvini: “Well, no stoner is going to pay 30 bucks worth of good pot money for it. But they’ll gladly steal it from the table when you’re not looking!”
Me: “$20.”
Then I force Mr. Tvini to try it on so I can see.
Me: “Well, maybe $15.”

I’ve never knitted a hat on straight needles instead of circular before, and I have to say I’m not fond of it. The seam seems obvious and the bottom doesn’t match cleanly (Note bulge over the right ear).

Bearing in mind that I have the rhino-thick hide of a GM, what say you? Keep it, or rip it out and do something else with the yarn?

ETA: My cousin stopped by and modeled the hat. As God is my witness he does not do drugs, but if you wanted an example of what a stoner would look like in this hat, you will never find a better visual.

So whatcha think, maybe use it as a band in another hip-hop pope hat, maybe picking up the pink or the blue?

Frog it. There’s a little too much color going on in too small a space. It looks like gorgeous yarn, but finding someone the hat is going to look good on may involve sending a subspace transmission to Jamiroquai-4, Planet of the Plaid-Skinned Stoner Rastas.

The hat design itself looks good, though. I don’t see the bulge.

That kid Sean Penn played in ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ would be so very proud right now. It’s the tree on the shirt. It really completes the effect.

I’d say picking up blue would be awesome, but I’m a freak for blue. I also think that could help tone down the Mexican pinata-party effect of the colors, make it cohese. I could be talking out of my butt, though.

However. If you get Rigby to try on any of these hats at the Con, we wants Pics Now. Hee.

Nooooooooooooo! Don’t destroy it! That thing rocks. 🙂 Gah, if I had the money for it I’d buy it for $30.

*goes off thinking about all the neat jokes he could do with a hat like that*

Yyyyyeah. I’m not sure that “neat jokes” was what I was originally going for. On the other hand, whatever works!

I would say pair it with anotehr color. sometings more sadate. black? blue? and use it as the trim and perhaps the very top. then you can get 2 hats out of it. and more people would be inclined to buy it.
