It’s not easy being green.
So someone saw me knitting the boob hat and wanted one in similar colors. Being the cheap person that I am, I picked out an all-wool yarn from the same manufacturer in colorway 87 and started knitting. However, as I knit it up, I realized that the outside of the skein was deceptive. All the green was tucked way, way inside the ball. It ain’t purple. It ain’t even close.
So now I’m presented with several options. Finish knitting the hat and give it to her, even though it’s not what she thought she was going to get, finish the hat and find someone else who wants it (unlikely, since all my contact in real life is with a four year old), or unravel it, make something like this for myself, and just suck it up and buy some new yarn for her. Opinions?
Is she a friend? If not, is she paying for anything? (I assume not…)

It’s a nice hat as it is, you know. But, she may not like it… I would have wanted it…except there’s no practical usage for a wool hat in a 24-7 summer-like tropical (read: too hot and too humid) environment. 🙂
I probably may not give her the hat if I were in your shoes, because I wouldn’t want to disappoint her… that original boob hat IS a little more spiffy than the new one. 🙂
But at the same time, I’d be going “Why? Why did I say okay??? Whhhhyyyy???” while I do a new one. Are you going to do that? *grin*
