The new color-corrected cards came. Much better! I’m grateful to Karen at Prints Made Easy for quickly fixing the problem. I’ll definitely use that site again. In fact, it’s about time to order more single-sided cards, since I’m down to about 30 remaining. Those babies go fast!

At right: Look on my stand mixer, ye mighty, and despair!

Actually, it’s not mine, it’s my husband’s. He’s been wanting one for years now.
Obstacles:
1) It’s costly.
2) It’s costly.
3) Our house is a sty.
Solutions:
1) Have a very generous father who gives you a giant wad of cash for Christmas and encourages you to get something nice for your loved ones.
2) Scour the internet and buy it the day after Christmas online when it’s $150 off at Amazon.
3) Make a place for it a month in advance and keep it constantly cleared off, so that the psychological “we won’t keep it clean” barricade falls more easily.

Bonus: In addition to being an excellent cook, my husband also brews beer. There’s an attachment available for this that will crack grain, which apparently would be great for making mashes. Here’s hoping the revenooers don’t come fer us.

plays Santa! Yep, it’s the prettiest care package ever for Emily. I told Emily after school that she had mail, and you’d have thought I’d told her that Santa himself was stopping by for tea. And check out the contents! Albums, fancy paper, stickers, punch-out tags, glue stick… sweet! As Emily said, “Wow! This is so nice!” I’ve never gotten into scrapbooking, partly because I hear it’s like crack for crafters, but I have to figure that part of the allure is that you can be a grownup and still play with stickers. So we’ll have fun with this together. Thank you, !

This wasn’t mailed, but it was delivered to me on Wednesday night at knit night. I obviously didn’t make it to Knitting Guild on Tuesday night but there was a representative from Rainy Day Creations there. and Turtlegirl76 picked up this yarn for me. It’s Berroco’s new yarn, named Comfort Sock, which is apt since I think they knew I needed a little comfort. This is exactly the colorway I would have picked for myself. I’m glad to feel how soft it is, since I’ve got a Jayne hat client who’s allergic to wool and I’m looking at Berroco Comfort as a possible alternative. The cotton I use is too pricey and they keep discontinuing my orange. Thank you guys so much. This is very much appreciated.

In addition, I got another ten skeins of orange yarn in the mail. No need to bother with pics of the yarn – you guys know what Jayne hat yarn looks like by now. So today, I’m packing up more kits and hats and knitting like the wind. I may even have to temporarily discontinue kits again – packing them up takes time, and I want to get the queue back under two months!

I bought myself a stand mixer on sale 50% off. It’s a heavy duty lift-bowl mixer, so 50% off meant it was $280 instead of $600. Still, decent!

My mom initially bought me a mixer from walmart after I told her DO NOT GET ME A MIXER FROM WALMART so I returned the walmart one and put the money I got toward the one that will, y’know, actually work.

Oh kitchen aid stand mixer, let’s make out.

Black and white is classic. It’ll look good when you’re living in your mansion.

P.S. Your knife holder is GREAT.
