No coffee and no internet make Tvini something something.

Actually, I did have to load up my laptop with Dreamweaver and CyberDuck and head to Caribou to update wearwithstyle.com to send e-mails to gmail. My husband was on the phone and made the excellent point that our provider wouldn’t even be able to begin looking for a new subcontractor until Monday, so who knows how long internet will be out?

Emily loves to go to thesimsonstage.com every day to do karaoke. Yesterday we weren’t able to do that. That site didn’t come up while we were her at Caribou. She was quite distraught, but my husband and I both independently had the idea to offer the piano as an option, since I do play. She went for it. So for the past couple of days, we’ve done “karaoke with the piano” which is also known as piano accompaniment. Heh.

My daughter is doing really well with her OT, so we’re dropping back to one session every two weeks instead of one session a week. Therefore, for a limited time, I’m making a deal. $25 to my school’s various Donors Choose challenges gets you a hat. Since it’s normally $36, that’s a good bargain. And when you combine this with that fact that 2008 WILL be the year that prices finally go up, it’s even more of a bargain. I have no illusions that my school’s music teacher is going to get the $5000 worth of xylophones she wants, but hey, maybe it’ll get more people involved in Donors Choose.

I’ll say this: when we don’t have internet, our house gets markedly cleaner. My husband vacuumed all over the place, tipping the couch up and getting cobwebs down from the corners. I myself was down on my hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. If you haven’t tried these, you really should. They’re miracle workers.

Three Jayne hats are ready to go out (one Louisiana, two California), and a fourth should be ready to go by tomorrow. I decided I really didn’t have the time to devote to a new project, so I’m sticking with the Jaynes. Tonight, knitting while watching Lust for Life with Kirk Douglas. I figure Vincent Van Gogh only needs the one earflap.

In other crafty news, coming soon from wearwithstyle…

stitchmarkers = love.

Hope to see you all tomorrow!

    I got Emily’s little surprise package together today. It’ll go out in the mail this week with the other out of town Christmas presents. I hope she likes it.

    You know, I have wireless right here at my cozy home. And I’ve finished up with season 5 (last episode is playing now) so if you’re still without internet tomorrow, feel free to stop by after 5. =)

    What, and lose my excuse to get coffee?

    Actually, I think I’ll take you up on that. Emily’s sick, so it’ll be tricky to get out tomorrow evening, but I’ll do my best. And I’ll try to remember season 6, too.
