EEK! OOK!

http://monkeemaker.blogspot.com/ is running a contest. Comment on her blog, possibly win a monkey backpack. I LOVE this monkey. It has a very Aardman-esque quality to it. The original Sirdar pattern has its charm, but the creator gave it some extra personality somehow. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s a singularly British monkey. The signup closes soon, so head on over and poke around. Leave a comment, and maybe get lucky!

It’s a Wallace and Gromit looking monkey.

Agreed, hence the “Aardman-esque” comment. Maybe it’s the mouth? Maybe it’s the ears? Who knows? But I would be unsurprised to see this monkey in Creature Comforts. It’s a British pattern knitted by a British knitter. It’s just something in the water over there, I guess.

    My monkey back-pack

You’re right, I have messed around with the mouth, giving him a very Wallace and Gromit look. My first monkeys had very tight mouths – the classic British stiff upper lip syndrome!

    Thanks for the link.
