Mysterious yarn surge.
For some reason, Jayne hat knitting kit orders are up at least 300% this week. Why? Did someone post something somewhere that I don’t know about? Why are kit orders up over hat orders that disproportionately?
Weird.

That might be my fault. I vaugely recall someone asking on one of the knitting communities if anyone knew where they could get a Jayne hat made for their brother. I suggested they check with and with you in particular for ideas.

I thought maybe so, but I asked the last three people, and they all basically said, “no reason, just felt like making a Jayne hat.” It’s a puzzler, but fine by me!

Someone did post a link to my pattern recently in that community, so that may help explain the upsurge. That front page hit on Google don’t hurt none neither. 🙂

Universal has recently re-aired all of the episodes of Firefly in High Definition in some markets. “The Message” just aired two weeks ago and that could account for the new interest.

That would explain it, you’re right. Also, I’ve had a few people in the last couple of days asking if they can get one by DragonCon, so that’s probably also playing into it.
