You learn something new every day.

And today, what my daughter learned were the words “inhabit” from the sentence “the island was inhabited by cannibals” in Pippi Longstocking, and also the word “fart.” From… uh, never mind.

However, she did teach me about matter, mass, properties, and temperature. So I suppose that’s a fair exchange.

    Jayne kit??

Hi! Do you still have Jayne hat kits? My Brother-in-Law is a HUGE Serenity/Firefly fan… and I just learned this month how to knit. I’d love to make a hat for him… although… I suspect that my hubby, and a few others may want them too. Ugh. So, if you don’t mind… what yarn do you use?

She’s a smart young lady, isn’t she? There’s a Volvo commercial that makes me think of her for some reason, though there isn’t much physical resemblance between her and the girl on TV — “Who would you give a Volvo to?” with Dad picking up the girl from school, and she’s chattering away in complete nonsense that only she understands….always makes me grin, it’s so KID-like.

Hi! Yep, I still have kits. This has been a first hat project for a lot of people, with good results. I use Lamb’s Pride bulky, which has a certain rustic quality but is still enjoyable to work with.

::singing:: I am Pippi Longstockings. If you say it fast its funny! Pippi, Pippi Longstockings! How I love my funny name!”

Ahhh … what wonderful memories. Those were fantastic books! I always wanted to be able to keep my horse in the kitchen. ::giggles:: But mama wouldn’t even let me have a dog in there.
