Clockwise from upper, we have an ounce of cashmere for spinning. You heard me. Cashmere.
We have delicious treats to eat, including chocolate covered sunflower seeds, a bar of Lindt milk chocolate, and nifty little mints. A jar of honey bath stuff, and a honey bath bear to go with it. Beneath it all, a lovely pinwheel cotton washcloth. Wow. Just wow.
Now, see, for me, that would have been enough. But wait! There’s more!

A lovely green purse. I love green, and I didn’t have a dressy purse, so this is perfect. It’s got a matching little pouch with mirror. Note also chopstick holder which contains not just chopsticks, but also size 5 needles! I actually don’t have size 5 straights, so this is perfect.
Stuffed inside the purse are all manner of knitting doodads. I don’t have a lot of doodads, so I wind up doing makeshift things like “I have this card I snagged from the coffeehouse bulletin board, and I know a business card is 2 inches tall, so let’s see… my gauge would be…” so this is a very handy package to have!
But wait, there’s even more!
Eeeeeeee! Alterknits was on my Amazon wishlist! This isn’t something I would have bought for myself, but it’s one of those that I really wanted and leafed through every time I went to the bookstore. Maybe I’ll knit me a screen door! Woo!
And the yarn! I had mentioned that I liked offbeat and smaller dyers, and my fiber godmother listened! On the left is some absolutely gorgeous laceweight from Extreme Yarns at Etsy. I love the colors. To the right is 350 yards of Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Teal. The color on this is wonderfully rich without being loud. This will be perfect for a complex sock pattern, and the Mountain Colors site has some suggested links that I’ll have to check out. This isn’t something I can get around here, so I’m really, really psyched about it.
I’m overwhelmed by my Fiber Godmother’s generosity. This was far more than I was expecting.
Thank you, thank you so much Tracey. What a wonderful, wonderful gift from a stranger.
Tracey, I know you are deeply faithful, so I’ll point you toward Proverbs 11:25 – A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
Obviously it doesn’t have quite the same import, but let me follow up with a quote my own geek heritage: Live long and prosper. 🙂
