Heartening!

School starts on Friday, but I got a call from my daughter’s upcoming second grade teacher yesterday morning. She said that she had been talking to Emily’s teacher from last year about her, and heard how sometimes she does better if she’s more familiar with her surroundings. So she invited us up to the classroom this morning to look around and get acquainted before the craziness of the open house tonight. We’ll be going up shortly.

I thought that was so nice! It’s reassuring to know that Emily’s teacher is already thinking of things that can help her succeed. It feels good to know that her teacher is really in her corner. It makes me much more hopeful for this school year!

That’s just wonderful. Good that she already talked to last year’s teacher, and even better that she called you up and offered. Bodes well for the year! (and, really, it’ll benefit everyone involved.)

Tonight’s also open house for the school, which we’ll be going to. If I make it to BAM, I’ll be late!

How many allegedly “normal” kids would benefit from this kind of attention? I am so glad Emily gets it! With all the people helping her, she can’t help but succeed…
