Ugh.

My mom might be thinking “that’s nothing, lightweight” but I seem to have injured my left foot somehow. (Okay, she’s really sweet and I know is actually thinking, “oh, you poor dear!”) The foot hurts across the top and also a bit on the arch. I’m wondering if it’s my shoes. They’re fairly old, and have very little arch support. I’ve been exercising more, so perhaps I just didn’t notice it until I was really using them. On the up side, I’m down several pounds. But I’m also taking a lesson from my mom, who is having tendon problems, and not overdoing it until it’s feeling better. It’s unfortunate, because I really am enjoying listening to my little NPR podcasts while I walk every morning. Nonetheless, I didn’t walk at all yesterday or today, and it would have been very convenient to walk today because…

…my car is back in the shop. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, three days after getting the car back for a second time, the check engine light came on again. And it’s still stuttering at stops. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the idle speed or a fuel mix issue – although my money’s on fuel mix – but I’d really like to have it fixed. I’ve spent more than 900 dollars on this puppy this month. Let’s get it right.

Got a few DR things to do today – some paperwork, some behind the scenes stuff, and still needing to track down a few people for tattoos.

The daughter’s hot water bottle cozy is almost done. Blue scarf is about a third done, but on the back burner for the moment.

Jayne hat on the needles for Australia, then North Carolina and New York.

Blargh. That happened to me back when we actually owned a car. I had gone into work late one Friday because I was getting my 100,000 mile checkup or something, and then on the following Monday I stalled in traffic on the way in AGAIN and had to be towed right back.

Definitely look into buying some good shoes. (With all of that money you have lying around, that is.) I’m totally in that boat too.

I vote shoes. I had what sounds like exactly the same pain, and when I changed shoes, it eventually went away (took a couple of days).

Heh. Well, Mom is offering a knitting-for-shoe-money trade, so maybe it’ll all work out okay. 🙂
