1 skein Kureyon felted pouch

Having managed to totally lose the pattern I made for this Kureyon dice bag, I had to start over from scratch when someone else ordered one. Fortunately, I remembered the number of stitches cast on, that I’d narrowed and then increased the neck, roughly where the yarn overs were to make holes, and that I’d done alternating rows of k2tog and ssk at the bottom so it didn’t get all swirly on me.

The pouch in its pre-felted stage. The white blob is a business card for scale. At this point, it’s large enough to wear as a tall, floppy hat.

After three trips in the washing machine. There was still a little stitch definition left after trip number two, and I really wanted all definition gone. Kureyon often requires extra agitation to really smooth out.

As the title implies, the colorway of Kureyon is 154. Last time I did it, it required exactly one skein. This time, I obviously did something different, because I wound up about 10 unfelted inches short on the i-cord. Fortunately, I had some in a complementary color leftover from (beware ginormous picture) my old booga bag. It was enough to make another foot or so of i-cord, so that worked out great. Next time I’ll just omit a plain round in the body somewhere and it’ll work right out.

This baby has to dry, then it’s off to its new owner, along with (of course) a Jayne hat. I’m going to put a couple of little rubber Wash-type dinosaurs in when I send it, just to help it start getting extra-lucky. 🙂

Are you going to participate in the Knitting Olympics? As if you don’t have enough to knit already. I saw this link and thought of you.
