Cutest. Bag. Ever.

I am now totally in love with the patterns from Black Sheep Bags. They were the source for the booga bag pattern, and that went so well that I decided to try one of their teeny tiny bags as a birthday gift for my niece. Here it is pre-felting with a deck of cards for scale. Here it is completed. Yes, I own Star Trek playing cards, I’m that much of a geek.

I think on the next go-round, I’m going to modify the pattern some and also add a button to help keep the flap closed. I’ve learned enough now to change the patterns to my own taste. This is fun!

    Darning it!

Dangit, Tvini. You’ve gotten me hooked back on knitting. Which I hadn’t done in years.

The first patented ‘Eeyore’s Ass’ chunky scarf (it’s all in greys and blacks, random dyeing) is almost complete. But I was wondering if there was a good online yarn store you or anyone could recommend.

I’m in Michigan, and I know of a couple decent yarn stores, but right now they’re almost all dedicated day trips or mini-vacations to get to. And I’m going to get tired of Joanne’s all-acrylic selection soon.

Hee hee! Eeyore’s ass. I love it.

There are several I like. http://www.yarnxpress.com/ has some nice luxury stuff and keeps a good amount in stock, and their delivery is quick. http://www.yarnxpress.com/ has good prices on the funky stuff, but sometimes you have to buy more than you’d perhaps like. http://www.elann.com has a swap center where you can advertise what you’ve got and see what others have to trade.

Don’t dismiss eBay! Right now, I’m waiting for about five skeins of Lamb’s Pride wool and mohair blend that I picked up for 13.95 including shipping! Woo!

If you’re looking for long-term savings after an initial outlay of cash, look at Denise Interchangeable Needles at http://www.knitdenise.com/ It’s a series of needles and cords which you can interchange to make a wide variety of needles and stitch holders in different lengths and shapes. I got mine not long ago and they’ve already saved me from buying two pairs. It probably depends on how much you actually knit as to whether it’s worth it.

Try the message boards at http://www.knittersreview.com and see if they’ve got any suggestions, too!

Happy knitting, and my door’s always open to chat!
