Handdyed yarn 2

Used some of the russet that hadn’t completely exhausted to make this coral/brown with purple. The purple uptook faster than I meant for it to, which was the result of overcompensating with the vinegar. Still, no mistakes, just happy accidents, right?

I think they’re beautiful. What was your yarn base, and what did you use to dye it?

I got a job back in August as the Design Coordinator for Universal Yarn (fancy way of saying I assist in the creative department). Because of this, I get their yarn at a substantial discount. This is their undyed merino sock yarn. I did this in my crockpot with Jacquard acid dyes.

The pink/melon/brown is what was leftover after the previous brown skein was done. That was a combination of russet and brown. The purple is straight up purple, fairly concentrated.

I like Universal yarn…They often have very nice products at unbelievably good prices.

I think so too, but I’m biased. 🙂
