server woes continue

September 28th, 2006 Leave a comment Go to comments

I still can’t access my new mail without jumping through flaming hoops on my husband’s Linux box. It seems that if you have more than 8000 e-mails in your inbox, that’s a bad thing. Go figure. Also, apparently when I delete messages, they don’t actually delete, they just sit on the server in some kind of e-mail limbo. This is even when I actually log onto the server itself and delete them. So I’ve quit the Freecycle Yahoo group, which would send in 30+ at a time, and also turned off e-mail notification of comments from LJ.

Further, my Mac will not access tvini.com or booboomonkey.com to make changes. So even though I have pictures I’d like to share, I can’t, because I can’t upload them. I’m not using Flickr, I’ve got a perfectly good website of my own and I should be able to use it, darn it!

All in all, a bad computer day thus far.

The Freecycle group in Charlotte has too many people complaining at one another.

As for the mac problem – are you trying to login via ftp? And with or without a client?

I agree about Freecycle. And what’s with folks asking for crap like spas and working cars? I actually saw someone wanting a flat-panel large screen TV. Nobody is going to throw those things away. At the other end of the spectrum, I offer up something like “a box of unused semi-clear plastic sleeves for a three ring binder” and get 50 people wanting them. People! They’re ten bucks at Office Max and it’s not like you need them to survive, dial down the drama in your responses!

As to what I’m using, I use cloverleaf-K from the desktop to access our network. tvini.com doesn’t show up in the list of options (it’s on a box inside our house). I have no idea why, or how I can get my machine to once again see that part of the network.

I quit at the end of summer. They didn’t want to work around my schedule so, eh, I found a better job. :p

On a completely unrelated note, may I just say that never was a package appreciated more than when yours arrived today. I had a shit-tacular day, which followed a day where I didn’t even attempt to go to work because I just needed a fricken BREAK… so getting home and receiving such gorgeous yarn with a wonderful handwritten note and such glorious artwork (tee hee) made my tired little heart feel warm again.

Thank you. I’m so glad I was able to help, and I wish you many years of weird Girl Scout songs and weenie roasts.

Awwww! I’m so glad it was timely! I loved the colorway name too – “Mint.” Definitely my favorite Girl Scout cookie flavor!

I’m really sorry about the e-mail problems. 🙁

Also, on a totally different note… YOU GOOBER! zomg! Do NOT tell me that was YOUR copy of Katamari or I’m going to have to roll you right up, no matter how funny you look with your legs a wavin! 😛

You are the sweetest thing ever, but still a goober. Thank you Ms. Gooberhead! ;D

Hee hee! Don’t roll me up! No, that is not my copy. I bought a lot of four used games off eBay because it had two I wanted – and We Love Katamari, which I already owned. I held onto it because I knew there would be someone who would appreciate it, sometime!

So no, we both have Katamari, no worries!

Also, I’m willing to be Ms. Gooberhead, but only because you used Ms. which I appreciate. Heh.
